Our Fleet

At this point of time, we have 0.001% of a fleet. We need new members and I have created a list of people that we need. If you ever read this article and you would like to join the development processes of Onima. Then contact me at sam.s.asghar@gmail.com and we will come up with something.

Let's begin!

1) Fleet Commanders - or Game Designers if you will. We need people who have a great imagination and the basic understandings of how games are being made. Game designers will create a single design document that will be updated daily by them. We will have to describe every single feature in Onima and make it easy for other participants to understand.

The monthly prizes are not available for game designers. Sorry. You lead the fleet and basically, it's your fleet, so you have to make some sacrifices for the sake of good for your men!

Don't be afraid to join. All this can be a valuable experience for all of us!

2) Engineers - or programmers. Every ship needs them. And we need them as well. Together we will build the game. You are the people who will make the foundation and build the walls of Onima!

What kind of programmers do we need? Right now most front-end developers. People who can make ships fly, animations play and UI pop-out, when called. But if have the desire to be a back-end developer, you still can. We can slowly build the multiplayer mechanics while building a single-player game. We will always have new cool features coming in and you guys should be a team in order to keep track. For an example:

A Saturday evening at Dave's house. Dave is a programmer for Onima and right now he is working on a cool new feature for it while speaking on Skype with other cool Onima Devs:

Dave - Guys this thing will blow their minds. I mean it's perfect! Larin - What? Dave - Oh, you know that thing we talked about last time. I was working on it for a couple of days now. Tom - Think we should tell him? Dave - Tell me what?! Larin - Uhm... Dave, we thought that we don't need that feature anymore... Dave - ... Tom - Dave? Dave - You fuckin idiots! I swear I will end your miserable life you gay retards!!!

Instead of this, it could have been this:

A Saturday evening at Dave's house. Dave is a programmer for Onima and right now he is working on a cool new feature for it while speaking on Skype with other cool Onima Devs:

Blake - Guys new update from the game designers. They want us to make the ships purple every time they shoot candy. Dave - But I made them go green when they do that. Blake - Okay. Who can correct Dave's job? Ethan - well I have just finished my task and I think i have a few spare hours. Dave - Oh, I love you, Ethan! Ethan - I love you too Dave.! Blake - guys you are so kind! I love you all so much!

Suddenly another guy joins in the group call.

Morty - Guys in one of the game designers. And wanted to say that we all love you! Programmers - GO FRAK YOURSELF MORTY!

Yeah.. I got carried away a bit. But you get my point. We want to build a team of loving and caring people, who will enjoy working on Onima.

Programmers you are our most important part and we will value you like Uranium Ore in Onima.

3) Ship Manufacturers - or artists if you will. You can't just have a ship, you have to build it. And that's where ship manufacturers come in. They make sweet rides you can fly or blow up. And every new line of ships gets cooler and cooler.

We need artist's in our team, as they will design ships, stations, backgrounds, UI, logos, effects and a bunch of other cool stuff! So that's crucial at this point. Onima has to have a bunch of ships from cool fighter to massive gains motherships that are hard to get(yeah like in Eve). And with your help, it will meet this goal.

A bit about spaceship design. This really matters for me and I have a couple ideas for an artist who want to design ships. If you know Star Citizen has those manufacturers that make cool in-game ships. Each one of them has their own story and unique design features. Let us borrow that? Create companies with a background and make ships with its logos. bigger companies can invite multiple artists in them and the smaller one's can be like a luxurious brand with a small but a beautiful ship-line.

This post is getting a bit too big so I will break it down into two parts. But I will cover one last small but important profession before we go.

4) Communication officers - social media managers. Managing multiple social pages is hard and I would love to have some help with it. I won't have any restrictions for you guys as long as you keep people updated with the latest news and say good things about Onima. A good fleet needs you. And if you write good - then we will be more than happy if you join.

So that's it for today's blog, and I hope you liked it. I'm thinking of maybe making the next blog more related to the game and not about the game development process. Yeah, that's probably a better thing to do. But don't blame me... I'm just super pumped about all this thing going on. On 28th of April 2017, we had our first visitors spike of 78 users in one day! THAT IS JUST AWESOME!

Thank you, guys!

Sam.
